Day 10 - Jap Food Day

Ok. So.. this is in connection with yesterday's blog and I dont know why I forgot to mention it, but the golf carts in HK are SOLAR POWERED. Heh its pretty cool. at least... in my mind. W/e heres a picture.

Anyways, on to day 10. Nothing really exciting, woke up a bit later and did routine check up on grandma. She was re-learning to stand and stuff again but she got tired out pretty quickly, so we just let her sleep. After that got my laundry back from the laundramat... (basically pay by the pound for clothes and they wash dry and fold for you). Went back to my dad's hotel and saw fire trucks there... Luckily it wasn't anything to do with the hotel but took some pics anyways.

Then spent an hour at the bank with Pops.... and everything wasn't even done. The lady there kept mixing stuff up and problems of all sorts... Didn't end up eating lunch til 3pm. Thought i was gonna fall over.

But it was worth the wait. We visited Monster Sushi back in Langham Place in Mong Kok. The food was pretty damn good so here are just some pics. Honestly a pretty uneventful day so here are more food pics.

Uni.

Monster Sushi Logo..

Cool Sake Bottle.

Salad.

This thing was awesome. It was seared Toro on rice. Pretty freaking good.

So after that just met up with sean and wayne at TST. Sean went looking for shoes AGAIN... and AGAIN nobody had his/our size - 10.5. I think people have inherently small feet here. Anyways besides me dunking inside the mall....

Nothing else really happened here. Well except for when we were in a store, some lady came up to me randomly and tapped me on the shoulder. She then started speaking mandarin to me - to which I replied with my best mando accent "I don't speak mandarin, i'm very sorry." Then she broke out in pretty much perfect Canto. I was kinda shocked but it turned out she just wanted me to try on something for her husband. I looked around and didn't really see any guys around and then I understood what she meant. Anyways her husband must either be a giant or he has some weird style cuz i'm pretty sure I heard them say it looks "cool" on me... You guys be the judge. I rate myself 2.5 / 10 model right here....

Wayne Sean and I randomly hit up an arcade and dueled it out in basketball. You guys can guess the scores and who got what... 15 points for whoever gets it right first.

Afterwards, met up with my Cousin and his girlfriend for dinner. They took me to this place which has the best Tonkatsu in all of HK and in there opinion all of asia (thats right including Japan). The line was pretty nuts but wow it was pretty worth it. Anyways, pictures can only describe so much so here we go.

Appetizers. From left to right - Potato Salad, Wasabi Octopus, Soft Shell Crab

Then we ordered - Pork Loin, Shrimp/prawn and Oysters
I think this is Pork Fillet. Haze (my cousins' Gf) ordered this.

That was a pretty non-coherent video but i posted it anyways. Despite the fail on filming what the sauce actually looked like, i actually managed to get a pic of the "Sauce making" process.

So in lieu of the crappy video, I will end on this picture with Sean and Ben wearing the exact same shorts they bought together at Girodano yesterday. Match made in heaven. hey guys... i'm just kidding.

  1. I'm guessing that Wayne was the fail at the game; Sean came in second; and you came first.

.. and lookin' slick and "cool" in that sweater, Huang.
.. and of course the boys would be wearing the same shorts. y'all need to stop shopping in Giordano.
