day 12,13 - I'm still here

Alright, so here goes my weekend update. Got to admit the last two nights have been kind of messy. Went out to LKF both nights and definitely was in no state to update this thing here. But i'm back and lets try to piece together what i Do remember from the past few days.

Day 12

Actually nothing really happened today. Just woke up and went through the routine and went to checkup on grandma. After that, went out to lunch with pops and aunt deedee. Food was actually pretty bad (bad lunch count is at like 80%) . However, we went to central after to check out some of the local food and had probably one of the best egg tarts in my life. I had these last year and man did they still live up to my expectation.

Aftewards, we just took the tram back to causeway bay and this time we sat at the front of the tram. It was actually pretty funny. The tram schedule in HK is kinda messed up, cause the trams pretty much never follow it. They either dont come for like 10 minutes or 6 of them come all at once. Anyways to illustrate how HKers are perpetually in a rush the tram in front of us was travelling to "causeway bay" meanwhile I was sitting in the tram directly behind them also going to "causeway bay". Yet to save the extra 5 seconds EVERYONE piles into this one tram while the one i was on was pretty much empty.

Dont understand the logic....

Anyways, the pics stop here for the day since I went to play ball with my Cousin's Gf's Brother - James for a few hours. I did this in the blistering heat even though I knew i was going to LKF afterwards. Its ok, i'm just that spartan ahah. But seriously... it wasn't a good idea.

LKF - we went to Beijing where it was like $300 HKD for cover (which was pretty steep compared to Toronto) and the club was freaking empty at first. So we decided to wander around LKF. Ben and I hit up Taz where it was Cassie's Day 1 of birthday celebrations and it was wayyyyy classier then beijing. The ladies were a bit older but it was still very nice. Check out ben's blog - he might have some pictures. http://spartanshktrip2010.blogspot.com

After that we went back to Beijing where it was PACKED. you Seriously cannot move in that place. I hate it there. Not to mention they didnt give me the bottle my cousin Daniel left for me.. Jackasses..

Got home at 5. What else can i say...

Day 13 -

So had to wake up early (as in 12pm early) to meet up with my cousin Andrew for lunch. We went to Hung Hom for some straight up ghetto food. However this place is regarded as the best Hong Kong Burger in all the land. Lets see if it lived up to the hype.

Probably some of the most unhealthy thing you could ever eat for $16 HKD, but HOLYY was it good. Afterwards Andrew and Haze took me to the "best" "gai dang pok" not sure how to translate to english but these were pretty bomb too.

Kinda weird how two of the "best" things in HK was in Hung Hom, which to be honest was a pretty ghetto area. The places we ate at had no Air condition but the food was amazing.

Anyways, I didnt visit grandma yet so after lunch i went to do that with the cousins and she was in pretty good spirits. After a while we let her go back to sleep and off to Temple Street in Jordan for more local food.

It was another seafood night and it was pretty awesome.
Beer. Had like 3 of these between my pops and my aunt DeeDee.
These fishies are exclusive to HK.
Snails.. i think
not sure what this is called
Crab. delish.

After dinner, we met up with my Dad's close friend in HK. And let me tell you... this guy is a legend. A drinking legend. I've heard so many stories about this guy from my Dad so i definitely had to go and meet him. Seriously, this guy probably has drank more beer/alcohol then we have water. We had like 11 big bottles of beer between the 3 of us and I think while me and my dad got tipsy, this guy was not even finished warming up. Anyways Cheers to this guy, it was a wicked way to predrink before going out to LKF... again.

This is a bit out of order, but before we met up with "the Legend" we walked around temple street and saw some pretty funny and creepy things. I'll let you guys decide.

uh.... 5 points to those who guess what this is

Creepiest effing doll ever?

Temple Street entertainment. Rofl.

Anyways, LKF was another messy night. Some chick tried to leave me with a $1100 bar tab, but uh... no thanks not on my student budget. I dont need to impress you that badly. Effing honger chicks. She ended up having to pay for it herself. idiot....
Anyways, got home at 3 and woke up just now, and knew i had to update the blog before everyone starts flaming me. hah.

Later Days.

  1. Mousepads. Do I win a prize?

I've learned during my trip that I hate partying in LKF. Too many people - you're always packed like sardines, and everything is just overpriced.

  2. Mouse pads! Darn too late. They have a lot of those in Japan with other anime characters. Awesome stuff I was thinking of bringing them back to give to people as souvenirs.
