Day 15 - Wong Tai Sin
Soo woke up again to go check on Grandma. She was pretty tired today so didn't do much so we just let her rest. Then i met up with the gang to head off to Wong Tai Sin Temple (with Jen, Ben, wayne, Carson and Winnie). Well before we could even get to the temple, we got bombarded by these grandma's to buy incense and we didn't really want any... but Jen was trying to be nice so she pulled out some money. Look at what she caused..
The worst part about all of this was, as soon as we entered the temple we discovered incense are FREE.... -_- thats a fail.
Wayne is here "cow cheem"... basically the ritual (for all my non asian friends) is you ask a question in your mind/heart to the "gods" and you shake a container full of sticks until one falls out. You then take the stick and get it 'translated.' Not sure what wayne was asking about... and he refuses to tell us.
So after a while. I decided to give it a shot too. My question was about grandma's health and when I took it to the translator it turned out to be a "medium good" stick which was good news. I forgot to take a picutre of the actual translation cause I gave it to Grandma already.
Ben challenged Wayne into drinking his bubble tea as fast as he could. Sorry for terrible zoom and the fact that i missed 30 seconds of it. But you can catch how many balls *pause* that wayne shoved in his mouth.
After that, we pretty much just went back to Causeway bay. We were gonna try to catch the Andy Lau movie cause wayne loves andy lau so much, but none of the theaters were playing it so that sucked. Met up with Jacky and Despina to eat dessert and play some arcade instead as everyone else went home to get ready for some Ocean Park the next day!
Day 16 - Ocean Park
So we got up "early" today to meet up at Admiralty to go to Ocean Park. Ben was there first and he graced us yet again with his direction fail. He was at the Mcdonalds and told us to go to Exit B and go "diagonal" yet when all of us showed up there none of us could see the Mcdonalds. Luckily I was there before and brought everyone to the closest exit to the Mcdonalds at Exit A, and found Ben nom-nomin on a big mac at 11:30am. Hm... i guess thats later then it felt.
Yay. Ocean park we're here. Everything is decked out in Halloween theme. Halloween is supposed to be nuts in HK. Too bad none of us are staying.
Flamingos. Pretty anti-climatic
After that we went on the roller coaster. It looked pretty crappy and probably even crappier for Sean Wayne and Ben since they went to Ceder point. It was so tame that we taped the whole thing.
After we got off the ride, we went to try to check out the pictures. Instead we found some angry ass Mainlanders. Translators welcome. I think the jist of it was the mainlanders calling the employee a racist... Yup... chinese being racist against chinese. Interesting..
Then we went to check out the dolphin show.
So as we were leaving, there was obviously a mass of people. Anyways this is a video of self-proclaimed spartan Ben in action. You comment for yourself.....
Lunch at ocean park. $55 bucks for this. It felt overpriced at the time but it was actually pretty decent and cheaper then anything we would get at say... Wonderland.
Cable cars. I dont know why Dee decided to tell us AFTER we got in. But apparently these cars have fallen off the cable before... uh... Not to mention it was rainy and windy today too.
Alright so here goes the story of this fun little "tram." I'm gonna do my best but it caused some serious hilarity at dinner.
So the scenario was that it was around 5:30ish and Wayne had to be back home for Dinner at 6pm. He basically had time to do one last thing at Ocean park before going home and since he had never seen Panda's before, so we took the cable cars after lunch to get to the other side of the park to see Panda's before he left.
As we were walking towards the Panda exhibit, both Ben and I spot this sign saying something along the lines of "3 minute thrill ride. Full submerssive experience unlike any other." So if my fellow Torontonians remember "Days of Thunder" at wonderland or any ride where u sit in a seat and it moves and shakes around, we thought it was something like that. So we're like wayne wanna check out this ride before we see the Pandas. So he obliged and we all got on.... At this point it kind of looked like a subway cart but I thought it would take us underneath an underwater aquarium...
At this point Wayne pulls out his map and says..
Wayne: Isn't this the tram back to the otherside of the park?
*looks at map more carefully*
Ride Operator: Please stand back from the doors
Wayne: EFF!!! This is the damn train back to the otherside
SOOO.. we totally got conned by the sign and we rode the train back to the other side wasting 3 precious minutes. Not only that, we couldn't even stay in the train and we had to exit and re-line up for the train to get back to the other side. Another 4 minutes wasted. So by the time we got back to the other side, Wayne was now late and never even got to see a Panda Bear. Something he has still yet to do in his life apparently. Poor guy.. Our bad Wayne!
Recognize that fuzzy little guy? I bought one for my sis. You can ask who ben bought that one for haha.
So afterwards we went to the Jellyfish aquarium and it was the best part of the day, for me at least.
Me acting as Foreign currency exchange for Sean. 2 red for 2 green.
Anyways, Macau tomorrow! Should be fun. Lets invest that money!
Later Days.
LMAO at the crazy mainlanders. WTF. HAHA.
