Day 28 - Recovery Day

Day 28 - Recovery Day.

Woke up around 2pm. Met up with Cheng and Stephanie for some breakfast/lunch/brunch.

This was mine. Meh. Was at Tsuh Wah.
Saw this little guy walking towards visiting grandma. Way too FLUFFAY not to take a picture. mad cute.

Anyways, stayed with grandma for a hour and a bit and just talked to her. She was quite energetic today and she was making jokes too. So that was good to see and hear.
Met up with everyone at Hang Hau at 7pm to go to Sai Kung to eat seafood.
Guy on a boat selling seafood. Literally..
Dunno what these are called in english. But cool.
Giant fish. Like... as big as the massive tank.
Tons of seafood to choose from.

Shrimp in a bottle. Apparently they're shipped to HK from malaysia this way.
Can you spot who doesnt belong? this guy tried to sell us on his restaurant so badly he followed us for a good 2 minutes.

Sea urchin!. Actually this stuff is for display purposes only.
Per the lady at the restaurant:
Us: how do you sell it?
Her: You want to eat that???? you can't eat it!. you'll die. its from HK water. Caught for display purposes only...
Us: .....
Her: heres the good stuff (shows us the uni)
Us: oh.....
Wicked ass night view. We sat 3rd floor balcony.

Ok here comes the food:
Cheese Lobster - meh average.
Washin it down with a bottle of cream soda
Fish. "gifted to us" - pretty bland imo. Probably dead...
Pissing Shrimp

Calamari
UNI - omg this was amazing. probably best thing all night.
Scallop. Meh..
Clams. I was pretty infuriated by the quality of this. I"m 99% sure that these clams were dead. Extremely untasty.

Overall, the food was quite disappointing and it wasn't cheap (250 a head). Talked to my dad after and apparently not a good idea to go to sai kung on weekends. Only regulars go, because everyone else gets crap seafood (i.e. us) and yea... extremely disappointed.
Definitely was not this happy about the seafood dinner.

Took the "small bus" back to Causeway Bay

Unfortunately (or fortunately) the speedometer didn't go over the limit, but we still got back in record time.

So hit up LKF after with Ben, with Jen, wendy and her friend joining us after. On the way there, found a wallet in the MTR. Thought it was dropped by the guys in front of us so I chased them down and asked if it was theirs... Turns out it wasn't. So i opened it up and found an ID and $1000HKD. Obviously did the right thing and gave the whole thing to the MTR customer service desk. (I opened it up to ensure that there was ID so that someone could actually claim it).

Saw this streaker along LKF, was pretty jokes.
Ok this picture here is solely for the purposes of guaging how afro-ish my hair has gotten. Please note there is Gel in my hair already and its just.. outta control. Plan is to get it cut tomorrow, so stay tuned.

Anyways, gotta get up early to be with grandma for acupuncture treatment.

Later Days.

  2. I haven't been keeping up as much with both your and Ben's blogs lately! Been sick/busy at work. However, it's great to hear that your grandma is doing a lot better now! Best wishes to her and to the rest of your family!
